I work across organisations, classrooms and stages , using theatre in places it’s not usually found.

From boardrooms to schools to non-theatre spaces, I design work that helps people feel they belong and work together differently.

I bring theatre out of the arts space and into organisations and education  as a practical way to shift how people feel, think, relate and collaborate.

Theatre for connection, belonging & wellbeing

About me

Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across 5 countries, including conflict and post-conflict settings. Those experiences shaped how I understand connection: not as something abstract or sentimental, but as something physical, relational and shaped by how safe people feel in a room.

My work is informed by neuroscience, particularly how the nervous system affects listening, learning and decision-making. I work from a clear belief: when people can connect, belonging follows — and from that, wellbeing, collaboration and change become possible.

I work across organisations, education and live performance by design. I’m a Contemporary Theatre Fellow at Birkbeck, University of London, and Co-Founder of Cor, where we create Epic Arts Projects for Social Value — embedding creative practice into large-scale systems and partnerships.

My advisory and facilitation work supports leaders and educators navigating complexity and pressure.

Across all of it, the aim is the same: to design spaces where people feel able to show up, connect and work differently together.

My long-term ambition is simple. To find sustainable ways of bringing the magic of the arts to the people and communities who need it most, without compromising rigour, quality or joy.

1

Education

I work with schools and education settings where pressure is high and connection really matters, supporting staff to regulate, reconnect and work more effectively together.

My work in education is grounded in Rhythm to Regulate™ — a theatre and neuroscience informed approach  for co-regulation.

Ways schools usually work with me include:

  • Teacher training using Rhythm to Regulate™

  • INSET day sessions focused on staff wellbeing, connection and belonging

  • Keynote talks and conference speaking for educators and school leaders

  • Collaborative research on topics such as Creativity for Inclusion, Rhythm to increase engagement.

2

Organisations

I work with organisations where connection, belonging and wellbeing directly affect performance, retention and culture.

I use theatre-led, neuroscience-informed approaches to help teams and leaders work better together, especially in environments under pressure, change or growth.

We co-design conditions where people can think clearly, collaborate effectively and feel they belong.

Ways organisations usually work with me include:

  • Leadership development and team workshops focused on connection, belonging and sustainable performance.

  • Belonging-led EDI advisory, supporting leaders to move beyond performative inclusion

  • Keynote talks and conference speaking on belonging, wellbeing and connection at work

3

Performance

My performance work is the public-facing side of my practice, where ideas about connection, belonging and wellbeing are explored live and in the real world.

I create socially engaged, participatory performance that often takes place outside traditional theatre spaces, working closely with communities to co-create work that feels relevant, joyful and accessible.

It keeps the work grounded, human and unapologetically feel-good.The work is unapologetically feel-good — not because it’s superficial, but because shared joy, rhythm and connection matter.

Ways people usually engage with my performance work include:

  • Original solo performance in non-theatre spaces and festivals

  • Co-created performance projects with communities and partners

  • Participatory events and sharings focused on connection, belonging and wellbeing

"Working with Amanda and participating in the Theatre for Mental Health workshops has been so beneficial our students. In an environment where challenging behaviours often obscure the potential for growth, Amanda brought a unique approach that not only engaged our students but also provided an outlet for them."

Sam Phoenix, Teacher, Pupil Referral Unit

“We’ve been thoroughly impressed at how sensitive subjects such as climate change were navigated in a fun and engaging way.Strong project management and an innovative approach resulted in meaningful outcomes and a method of engagement we nowadvocate across the authority.”

"Amanda’s workshop came at a time after significant change.
It was both sensitive and impactful.
She managed to convert the toughest of critics.”
